Root Canals

Root Canals – Including Rotary

A Root Canal treatment is performed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth which runs through the roots is infected, either through decay or injury.

A Root canal is performed over several appointments and involves drilling into the tooth, like we would for a filling, then cleaning out any infection that is in the roots of the teeth and filling them with antibiotics to get the infection under control. In the final appointment of the Root Canal Treatment the roots are backfilled with a permanent rubber material and then a final composite filling is placed on to seal the tooth.
